Decarcerate PA Spaghetti Dinner and Discussion on PA Prisons

Join Decarcerate PA Pittsburgh for a free spaghetti dinner at Bidwell Presbyterian on the North Side and a discussion of prison expansion in Pennsylvania.

Decarcerate PA is a statewide campaign of concerned people, organizing to stop the 685 million dollar plan to expand and build new prisons in PA over the next 4 years. There are over 52,000 people in state prisons in PA and more in county jails and federal pens. We see schools closing, cuts to public and social services and public transit, but the prison budget remains intact.

It's well past time for alternatives! It costs over $30,000 a year to house someone in prison. We are organizing to stop the expansion of the prison industrial complex, to stop the school to prison pipeline, and to use government money to work for the people not to warehouse them.

Please join us for a discussion and call to action. Families welcome!
